Body in Soul (BISO) is a conscious movement/dance practice that connects body, soul and spirit in a creative, lively process. It invites you to dive deeper into your own presence and explore your own being through movement, breath, rhythm and space.

BISO is based on the assumption that our body – with all its physical, emotional, mental and energetic dimensions – is in a constant state of change. Through conscious movement, we can access our inner wisdom, release blockages and feel our vitality.

BISO is essentially a path of movement. It involves conscious movement, meditation, spirituality, bodyspirit – the intelligence of the living anatomy – therapeutic modalities and the arts. There are movement portals to enter, emotional maps to follow, ‘soul maps’. There are simple rituals to explore and engage with, creative and imaginative journeys to take.

A core element of BISO is the FABRR method. It offers five “gateways” through which we can deepen our connection to body, breath, and presence:

  • Focus – directed attention
  • Breath – conscious, connected breathing
  • Movement – free, creative physical expression
  • Rhythm – playing with inner and outer rhythms
  • Space – awareness and shaping of the space around us

These qualities form the foundation of the practice – whether in individual sessions, group settings, or ritual work.

The Body in Soul Dynamic Movement Facilitator Training is a two-year intensive program led by Nele Vandezande (Belgium) and Cathy Ryan (Ireland). It is designed for people with experience in conscious movement, therapy, bodywork, or artistic practices who wish to deepen and professionalize their work.
